 • Bone & Joint Infections

• Surgical Prophylaxis - Respiratory Tract Infections

 • Gynecological Infections

Cefepime is a broad spectrum 4th generation Cephalosporin antibiotic.

Cefepime inhibits the final traspeptidation step of peptidoglycon synthesis in bacterial cell wall by binding to one or more of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).

Cefepime and Tazobactam is a useful combination for the treatment of infections due to ESBLs producing organisms. Tazobactam augments and potentiate Cefepime.

Dosage: MILD TO MODERATE INFECTION: 0.5 gm, 1 gm. IV/IM 12 hourly Interval.

SEVERE & COMPLECATED INFECTIONS: 1 gm IV/IM 12 hourly Interval.

PAEDIATRIC PATIENTS: 40-50 mg / kg of 8-12 hourly intervals. O as Directed by the physician.
